RAVA MORKALI, RAVA MOR KUZHU

I have alrealdy posted how to make( morkali. click here) I tried the same with Rava, suji also came out very nicely.

The process is same only replacing the rice flour with rava.  Let us look at the recipe now:

Preparation time: 20 minutes.
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Serves:2-3

Ingredients:

1 cup
Rava, suji,semolina
1 cup
Water
As required
Salt
                              1 cup                         curd beaten
                              1 tsp                          wheat flour
                              1                                 onion finely chopped
Tempering:

2 tsp + 6 tsp
Gingelly oil
1 tsp
Mustard seeds
1 tsp
Urid dal
½ tsp
Chana dal
2
Mor milagai
Pinch of
Asafetida
Few
Curry leaves

Method:

Step 1

Roast the rava in a non stick pan and keep aside.

Mix the water and curd.  Take little mix of this and make paste of the wheat flour and add to the curd water mix.  this is done to prevent the curd curdling.

Step 2

Take a plate, grease and keep aside. Heat  2 tsp oil in kadai.  Add the mustard seeds. When it splutters, add the urid  dal and chana dal.  When it is done, add the mor milagai, curry leaves, asafoetida, onion and saute till onion is translucent.

Step 3

Add the curd water mix and bring to boil.  add salt.  When it comes to rolling boiling point, add the suji  without forming lumps and keep on stirring continuously.

In between you have to add the remaining oil and  cook till you get a mass dough and  starts leaving the sides of the kadai.

  Transfer to the greased plate.

Spread evenly by a greased spoon or wet spoon and allow to cool for 30 minutes.

Cut into desired shape square or diamond. Your  Rava Morkali, mor kuzhu is ready.

How to serve:

Serve as it is or with some pickle.
