KURMURA DOSA, MAMRA DOSA

Hot dosa with chutney and sambhar who will not like it?  there are varieties of dosas which are mouth watering.  Here is a simple and easy dosa with the mamra.  I have used the bhel kurmura to make this dosa.

The idea came from my husband as the packet of kurmura was there for sometime and it  became very soft.  Ofcourse, if you put in oven, or in hot kadai, you can make it crispy, but he said why don't you try making dosa with it.  I also said, nice idea, let me try it out so that I can get a new recipe for my blog.

It is very simple and easy to make this dosa and must have some spicy chutney or sambhar to serve along with it.  It takes around 4 to 5 minutes to make one dosa but that waiting period to cook is really worth it.

Now let us look at the recipe:

Ingredients:

3 cups kurmura
1/4  cup rice flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/4 cup rava
salt as required

Vegetables:

2 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
1 medium size onion finely chopped
2-3 beans finely chopped
2 tbsp carrot grated
2 tbsp cabbage chopped
few curry leaves chopped
coriander leaves chopped

spices

1 tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp cumin seeds
a genrous pinch of asafoetida

Others:

Oil for making dosa

Method:

Step 1

Wash and soak the kurmura in water for ten minutes.  the water level should be above the kurmura

Step 2

Grind the kurmura to a smooth paste.

Now add all other ingredients in it and mix well to get a dosa batter. Keep aside for ten minutes.

Step 3

Heat the tava, grease it pour one laddle ful of batter and just spread little bit.  you will not be able to spread the same to a thin dosa.

you can make it like thick dosa or uttappam style.  drizzle some oil.  Cook the same till crispy from both the sides. It takes around 4-5 minutes to prepare one dosa.

How to serve:

serve hot with spicy chutney or sambhar.

THANKS FOR VISITING THE BLOG.  YOUR SUGGESTIONS ARE MOST WELCOME.

NOTE:  If you want to make the dosa at a later stage, you can grind a handlful of urid dal soaked and add to the batter.
