BREAD MEDU VADA



vada is liked by all especially when it is served hot with sambhar.  Medu vada is a South Indian dish made for breakfast and as snack too.  The hot medu vadas dunked in sambhar with chutney is awesome and can be had at any point of time.

We are familiar with the preparation of medu vada.  I decided to add some left over bread which I had with me i.e. two slices of bread and side pieces of four slices.  Bread medu vada is a best out of waste dish for you I am sharing here.  I am sure you will love it.

Let us look at the recipe now:


                                                                                Ingredients:

½ cup
Urad dal
3 slices
Bread (white or brown as per your choice)
As required
Salt
Generous pinch
Hing powder
1 no
Green chilli chopped
1 tbsp
Coconut bits
Few
Curry leaves
1 tsp
Crushed black pepper/cumin seeds

Oil
1 no
Onion finely chopped
Method:

Step 1

Wash and soak the urid dal for four hours.  Grind to a smooth paste.

Step 2

Cut the bread pieces and put in mixer to make powder out of it.

 
Step 3

In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and mix well.  Keep for half an hour.




Step 4

Heat oil in Kadai.  Take out lemon size balls of batter flatten the same and make hole in the middle and deep fry them like you normally make the medu vada.

you can also pinch out the batter and fry small vadas


How to serve:

Serve hot with sambhar, chutney, sauce etc. as per your choice.
