GADBAD CUTLET

When you hear cutlet, you think about the vegetable cutlet, paneer cutlet, brinjal and peas cutlet  etc. etc. It is a nice snack item anytime we can relish.  You can load vegetables of your choice and make it.  Main purpose of making these items that most of the vegetables can be used and feed the children mainly as knowingly or unknowingly, it goes into the stomach, especially when you serve it with sauce for them.

The gadbad cutlet is mixture of various left out items I had in my fridge today.  I had four slices of the bread slices top and bottom of the bread packet which I had kept in the fridge which became very hard and I could easily make the crumbs out of it.  Then I had two to three pieces of boiled raw jackfruit, boiled peas.  I added some more ingredients in it and made this cutlet.  I also had quarter cup of sabudana soaked.   So many things put together made a lovely dish which I am sharing with you.

Let us look at the recipe now:







Ingredients:

1/4 cup sabudana 
1/4 cup carrot grated
1/4 cup green peas boiled and crushed
2-3 tbsp chopped green coriander
2-3 pcs of raw jackfruit boiled and mashed
1 onion finely chopped (optional)
1 big potato boiled and mashed
1 tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1/4 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1-2 tbsp corn boiled and crushed
4 slices of bread  
2 tsp rice flour
2 tbsp dry fruits viz. kaju, badam finely chopped (optinal)
salt as per taste 

oil for frying.


Method:

Step 1

Soak the sabudana in water overnight.  Put the bread slices in the mixer and make crumbs.  Crush the boiled peas and corn.  Mash the potato and the raw jackfruit boiled.

Step 2

Put the sabudana in the mixing bowl.  Add all the ingredients except oil and make the dough for the cutlet.    pinch out big lemon size balls and flatten the same and keep aside.  complete the process till it is finished.



Step 3

Heat oil in kadai.  deep fry the cutlets in  batches.  Your gadbad cutlet is read.

How to serve:

 serve them hot with green chutney, curd or sauce.
