MANGO MASTANI


Mango mastani is a drink with a dollop of ice cream and chopped nuts which is quite filling.  During mango season, do not miss this drink as you would love to make it again and again.  

Infact, this post is lying in my draft for the past one year and some how I could not publish it.  Now the mango season is on,  and the heat also, a drink like this is awesome to satisfy/quench your thirst and hunger.

As I was going through the draft, I saw this today and decided to publish it.

Let us look at the recipe now:






Ingredients:

2 large mangoes (preferably alphonso)  or kesar or you can use mango pulp also.
1 cup full cream milk (I used gokul milk)
1-2 tsp sugar (depending upon the sweetness of mango, you add/decrease)
 2 tbsp  - Pistachios, cashews, almonds  chopped 
3-4 scoops of vanialla ice cream or mango ice cream.  (I prefer vanilla as mango is already there)
cherries for decoration (optional - if you can't get it it is ok)
Ice cubes - optional.


METHOD:
1.  Peel, chop the mangoes, keep few pieces and put the remaining in blender.
2.  Add sugar, milk and blend to a smooth thick milkshake.
3.  Check for sugar and if need be, add more.  adding sugar is depending upon the sweetness of mangoes.
4.   Pour the milk shake in glasses leaving some space for topping with ice cream scoop.
5.  Put the ice cream scoops and top it with the chopped dry fruits and mangoes.
6.  Garnish with glazed cherries.

How to serve:

Serve immediately

note:  If you are using ice cubes, put the ice cubes in the glass, pour the milk shake then top with ice cream and nuts.  serve with spoon and straw.
