SMILEY CAKE, EGGLESS CAKE l Cakes/Bakes

Smiley cake or rava cake or eggless cake you can name it is a lovely, easy to make cake and will be loved by everyone.  You need not bother about oven and it can be prepared on stove top.  The basic ingredients are wheat flour,  semolina, ghee, milk and yoghurt,  hence it is healthy too.  This can be prepared by children above 10 with little supervision by elders.

This recipe is shared with me by Ms. Apoorva Shinde which was made by her for our sweet neighbour Anjali's wedding anniversary which was on 28th November.

Now let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup wheat flour
1 1/2 cup  fine rava, suji, semolina
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup ghee
1 cup milk
1 cup yoghurt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp dalchini powder (cinnamon powder)
1 tsp vanilla essence.

Method:

Beat the ghee, sugar until smooth paste is formed.  Add yoghurt and beat well till it is frothy.  Now add the flour, rava and fold it properly.  Slowly add the  the milk, essence,  dalchini powder, baking powder and soda and beat well.

Grease a non stick sauce pan.  Pour the batter in it.  Cook the same directly on the fire for 10 minutes in low flame.  After ten minutes, place a thick tawa on the fire and keep the sauce pan on it on a very low flame and allow to cook for 30 minutes with lid closed.  Pierce the centre of the cake with a knife or tooth pick to check whether it is done or not.  If it comes out clean, the stuff is ready.  Remove from heat, open the lid and let it cool for another 30 minutes to one hour.  Demould and decorate  as per your requirement.  Actually the cake tastes better without any decoration.  Still we made little decoration with whip cream.

Enjoy the cake and do let me have the feed back.  see you with another interesting post till then

Happy cooking.

Variation:

This can be made with 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 21/2 cup flour.  If you are using cocoa powder, add vanilla essence and chocolate essence.

can be made with 1 cup rava, 1 cup madia and 1 cup flour proportion.
