VEG SPICY DUMPLINGS

VEG SPICY DUMPLINGS are made with rice flour, vegetables and spices.  This is a nice snack item which can be served in the evening with a cup of tea or coffee. It is not only healthy but an easy way to feed the children with the vegetables.




Let us have look at the recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh rice flour
1 cup water
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste

Masalas

garam masala, chilli powder, pepper powder, green chilli paste, gun powder (anything of your choice)

Vegetables

carrot, beans, fresh corn - 1/4 cup

Tempering

2 tbsp oil (preferably coconut oil)
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
2-3 green chillies chopped
3-4 tbsp grated coconut
asafoetida
chaat masala
chilli powder as required

Garnishing

chopped coriander leaves


Method:

Make the dough of Modak.
Mix the vegetables, salt, masalas as per your choice
Knead it well and make small balls out of it
steam cook the same for 5-10 minutes.
cool it.

Heat oil in kadai
add  mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida, green chillies.
when it is done add the grated coconut chaat masala chilli powder and give a quick mix.
add the cooked balls in it and saute for few minutes till the veg balls are coated with the masalas
garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.

Variation:  this can be shaped into modak too.
