VERMICELLI DOSA


Dosa is a breakfast item in almost all the household especially in  South India.  various dosas are made and served with sambar and chutney.  But this dosa I served with Yam raita or pachadi and some mix vegetables.  This dosa is made with vermicelli, rava and rice powder.  It is quite tasty, healthy and delicious too.  You tube : vermicelli dosa





Let us look at the recipe now:

Ingredients:

1 cup thick yoghurt
1/2 cup roasted vermicelli (thin one)
1/2 cup rice powder
3 tbsp roasted rava (semolna)
1/2 tsp green chilli paste
1/4 tsp ginger paste
1 tbsp curry leaves chopped
1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
1 big onion finely chopped
grated carrots, beetroots (optional)
asafoetida
salt as per taste
oil for making dosa

Mehod:

Whisk the curd  in a mixing bowl.  break the vermicelli and put in the curd.  add the rava, rice flour, ginger green chilli paste, salt, asafoetida etc. and mix well.  add 1/2 cup water and mix again. add the curry leaves and coriander leaves and keep aside for half an hour.  after half an hour, mix 1/4 cup of water.  Heat a non  stick tava, apply little oil on it,  pour one laddleful of batter and spread like the normal dosa.  spread some chopped onion, carrots and beetroot if you wish and cook both the sides.  serve hot with yam raita or mix vegetables as you wish.

total time taken: 1 hour 15 mts.  serves : 2-3
