Beetroot sago kheer, beetroot javarisi payasam

Beetroot sago kheer is a delicious kheer made out of grated beetroot, sago and milk.  If loaded with dry fruits,it is awesome.

Beetroot sago kheer

Ingredients:

1/4 cup beetroot
2 cups of milk
1/2 cup sugar
cardamom powder
dry fruits chopped of your choice (i used almonds and pistas)
11/2 tbsp  soaked sago, sabudana
1 tsp ghee

Method:

Heat ghee in a kadai. add the beetroot and saute for few minutes. now add the milk, sabudana, sugar and bring to boil.  When it is reduced 1/4 th of the contents, add cardamom powder and  remove from gas, garnish with dry frutis. serve hot or cold as you wish.  You will get a saucy consistency kheer.  When it becomes cool, it is likely to thicken, if it is too thick, you can add little hot or cold milk.
